South Dakota Drivers

Today's word indemnifies South Dakota drivers. (In my general opinion) I noticed moving from the east coast that everyone in South Dakota drives the speed limit! Now, being from the east coast you have to realize that there is a driving "buffer." You get at least five to ten miles per over the speed limit to be safe from the dreaded "pull over." Then, I moved here, where it is normal to drive the speed limit or under the speed limit. Needless, to say it has not helped my road rage issues! So, in honor of my pain here is the word of today.

Parade Maker: (n). A driver and/or car that goes consistently under the speed limit, causing a backup of 20+ cars, creating frustration and your ability to be where you want to be on time.

Oh see, I could totally not live there. Growing up in NJ has made me an aggressive driver and can't stand below the speed limit. I feel your pain. Now Scott on the other hand would thrive out there. He and I don't do well in the same car together. :)

i used to live in Atlanta and had to commute in and out of downtown. Talk about aggressive drive in 6 lanes of interstate. You have to survive your drive home!

First of all...Jared....the idea that we are given 5-10 miles over is a misnomer...a myth...a falsity if you will. We have no such permission and can rightfuolly be pulled over for going 60 in a 55.

although, it doesn't happen often, becuase they are pulling over the more rambunctious speeders - those 80 in a 50'ers....

Secondly...the speed limit there is what...75 right? So....to be at the speed limit would be speeding to your relative driving comparison to the east coast. ;) So, even if you're 15 miles under the speed limit - you're still traveling at a comfortable 60mph. ;)
